Oh, Yes, without doubt! They are easy to use, quick, easy to clean (compared to cooker grills) and the FOOD TASTES GREAT!

Are there any disadvantages?

What is the difference between a grill and a griddle?

A grill generally heats food without additional fat, the modern electric grills cook by transferring heat through grooved plates, which give the characteristic dark lines on meat and other foods. Grills are very healthy methods of cooking.

A griddle, by contract, is basically a flat sort of frying pan thing. If you can remember your great, great, grandmother, she was probably using a griddle, suspended over a coal fire, or range, to make scones or pancakes.

So, a grill has grooves, a griddle is flat. Some have both, which you will find very handy of you ever tried to fry an egg on a grooved grill!
